Probably should have led with this section, honestly. Your weight allowance depends on rank and dependency status. Going over costs you money. Dislocation Allowance (DLA)

Maximizing PPM Moves

Personally Procured Moves (formerly DITY) pay you a percentage of what the government would have spent on your move. Rent a truck, pack yourself, and pocket the difference.
